Towards a Skilled and Enterprising India

India has a young and dynamic population, but a large section of the workforce still lacks formal skills and entrepreneurial guidance. NISET has been established to provide practical, affordable and livelihood-focused training, supporting the national vision of a Skilled, Self-Reliant and Atmanirbhar India.

The National Institute of Skill & Entrepreneurship Training (NISET) functions under the National Skill Development Trust with the mandate to:

• Provide skill and entrepreneurship training to youth, women, farmers and micro-entrepreneurs

• Support self-employment, micro enterprise and rural livelihood development

• Complement and support Government of India initiatives in the areas of skill development, digital empowerment and entrepreneurship promotion

Convergence with national mission

NISET, operating under the National Skill Development Trust, ensures that all training initiatives maintain convergence with flagship missions of the Government of India. The Institute’s programmes advance objectives relating to employability, entrepreneurship, digital inclusion, rural livelihoods and sustainable development, thus contributing to India’s long-term socio-economic goals.
